Il dottor Andrew Roberts è un affermato giornalista e storico, nato a Londra il 13 gennaio 1963. È figlio di Simon Roberts, un dirigente d'azienda che ha ereditato l'attività di Job's Dairy di latte e ha posseduto la contingenza del Regno Unito di Kentucky Fried Chicken ristoranti, e Kathleen (nata Hillery-Collings). Il dottor Roberts si è laureato con lode in Storia Moderna al Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, e in seguito ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca (PhD) nello stesso istituto. Attualmente è un borsista senior onorario al Gonville & Caius College.
Il dottor Roberts si è imposto come autore prolifico, avendo scritto o editato dodici libri. Il suo lavoro ha guadagnato un riconoscimento significativo e contribuisce regolarmente a programmi radiofonici e televisivi in tutto il mondo. Il dottor Roberts è noto per la sua eloquenza nell'oratoria pubblica ed è rappresentato dall'HarperCollins Speakers’ Bureau per gli impegni di parlantina. Ha tenuto lezioni presso prestigiose università come Yale, Princeton e Stanford e presso il Collegio di guerra dell'esercito degli Stati Uniti a Carlisle, in Pennsylvania. La sua competenza e le sue intuizioni lo hanno reso una voce ricercata in circoli storici e giornalistici.
