Hermione Lee è una autrice britannica molto stimata, nota per i suoi lavori in non-fiction e biografia. Essa è nata e cresciuta a Londra, e ha ricevuto la sua educazione ad Oxford. La carriera accademica di Lee è iniziata negli Stati Uniti, dove ha lavorato come lettore al College di William e Mary a Williamsburg, in Virginia, e all'Università di Liverpool.
